When you feel lost, alone, or confused, I am here to help.

Laura Turnbull

Welcome, and congratulations on taking an important step toward self-discovery and well-being! It can be so difficult to take the time to focus on yourself and take care of your needs. When you do take that step, though, you can begin to see positive changes in your life. Seeing a therapist can help you when life throws difficult situations your way, you find yourself wanting to change the way you do things in your life, or you find yourself in crisis and struggling through emotional pain. Therapy can also help you take the steps forward that you need, and help you learn about yourself.

What is a therapy about? As a Registered Psychologist, my role is to facilitate your self-discovery, to challenge you in ways that help move you forward in your goals, and to help you resolve problems or pain you might be experiencing in your life. I believe that each person has the strengths and intuition necessary to solve their problems and to heal their pain; it is through the unique therapeutic relationship that we are understood by another and come to understand ourselves. In therapy, I will help you find those inner resources, offer new ways to look at a situation, and provide a nonjudgmental, safe space for you to explore yourself. I utilize a variety of techniques in my work, specifically in trauma therapy. We will work together to figure out what you want to achieve, and through our work together we will  help  you achieve those goals.

Take a look at the "About" section for more information about my approach and experience.
